Migraines, Laundry, Weigh In, And Other Little Tid Bits of Happiness...

Ever have one of those weeks that just doesn't slow down- and on top of it, you don't feel good? That's been my last week. Either my son, my husband, my dogs, or myself have been sick. Bad juju. (But I'm keeping Lysol in business, so it's all good. Those jerks should cut me a check or send me a coupon for all the repeat business I've given them...) To top things off, I have this miserable migraine today. And I'm craving chocolate. (Read: I'd punch Willa Wonka in his face and steal his candy, then tape the blinds tight to the window while I eat the chocolate in the dark so my head doesn't pound.)

But alas, I was sensible enough to throw dinner in the slow cooker this morning after I took kiddo to school, and so that's ready to go without much effort on my part. Chicken Chili tonight! Woot! I did the dishes mostly last night, so there are only pots and pans to handle now. But that laundry.... Ugh. I have at least four loads ready to be washed. Where's my maid? Where's my pool boy? Where's my teenage son? (Certainly, somebody can save me from the monstrosity of that laundry pile... I mean, can't we just go naked?!?!)

On to the good stuff...

You know I lost nine pounds the week before last. And that was awesome! And I was pumped! And do you know what I lost this week? Do ya?

One.

One. Freaking. Pound.

You've got to be kidding me. Is that even worth reporting? I mean, I'm sure I've hidden in our bathroom and come out at least one pound lighter at some point in my life or another. (Yes, this is that kind of blog. Brutally honest and comically funny. You're welcome.) How frustrating! And yes.... I know, I know... Huge week last week and then a week that keeps you balanced. Yada, yada.... I WANT MORE! Because I'm selfish like that! One pound... Oprah loses one pound an hour on her crazy diets.... Stupid Oprah. Stupid scale. Launch that dumb thing into the river behind my house right this second if I didn't have to trodge through the snow to get there. Fact!

I need to go now. Because my eldest dog thinks dragging his disgusting ass across my carpet is good times. Gross. Where's my Lysol?....

Calgon, seriously. Anytime now, ok? Okay.

***************

What's new with you? How was your week last week? Ever want to beat a scale with a baseball bat like me? Do you keep Lysol in business like I do?

Sarah

Ha ha. You crack me up.

I'm totally with you on wanting to crack the scale open with something large and heavy. She can be a real ***** sometimes.

That is one thing I learned from TBL, high numbers one week, low the next, and a pound is still a pound lost!

I think 9 lbs then 1 lb loss is tremendous! The overall picture is 10 lbs in two weeks!? Amazing.

You are doing so well. I love my crock pot :) Chicken chili sounds delish.

I frequently want to punch my scale in the face. But you did -awesome- last week, and sometimes your body just needs a week or two to catch up with you. I WISH I could lose nine pounds every week, but the reality is, that rarely happens. We gotta learn to be happy with steady and consistent 2-3 pound losses, because that's what's sustainable.

I'm right there with ya sista!!! At least you see the # on the scale go down. Mine fluctuates so much because I'm building muscle, yet I'm losing weight too. I can tell by how my clothes fit.

I hope you have a better week this week.
