Stuck In The Rut

Do you know what I remember from last night's workout? Boredom. Total, total boredom. I jumped on my bike and trainer in the living room and hauled ass while I watched the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cat fight. (Wouldnt it be great if their issues were our biggest problem in life? Who owns how many hand bags and what brand- and comparing how much money our husband's make?)

I don't know what it was, but I just found myself completely struck by boredom. Couldn't get over it. And so, my friends, its time to change it up... I need to make a point to get to the gym, yoga, swimming, or SOMETHING different this week. In fact, I want to go snowshoeing on Saturday! I've never done it before.... Who wants to go?! Ledge View, baby!

Do you ever find yourselves in a rut and totally stuck and bored during your workouts? What do you do?

On to other things...

Lets talk Biggest Loser, shall we? Last night's episode infuriated me. Why? Because the biggest guy who needed the most help and had put forth the work got sent home. Politics. Its dumb! Shouldnt there be a way to save people? A trainer safety card maybe that they could each give away weekly? I feel for Mike, because he had a bad week and they nixed him because he was a threat to win. Dumb. I have serious issues with the fact that these people go to have their lives hopefully saved- and then selfishness sends them home. Am I alone? Seems nutso to me....

By the way...

You know Monday is weigh in day for me, but you'll notice that I didn't post. I promise that theres a perfectly good reason for it!

This last weekend, my husband and I went out of town and had an AMAZING time. We hadn't gone anywhere in about two years (since we couldn't bear to leave Cole alone during the thick of his cancer battle) and needed a break to talk, hang out, and laugh. And we got it! We spent the weekend walking the streets of Madison and enjoying everything about the city.I will tell you more about it tomorrow and post photos. It was super fun! We had a BLAST!

I knew that if I weighed in yesterday and either gained or stayed the same, I would feel guilty and all of the joy from the weekend would be erased. That's the very last thing I wanted... The quality time & memories were worth more. That's just the bottom line.  So, you'll have to wait until next week. :)

With that, I'm off like a prom dress! Drink lots of water today with it being Fat Tuesday! And stay away from those buffets! We are having healthy chicken fajitas with avocado and peppers for dinner. Yum! What's on your menu today? Be honest!

Madison is so nice to hang out in just for a few days. So glad you got to do that - you deserved it!

I love that you got some quality time with hubby!!

As for the boredom, I usually create a new playlist when I get bored. I also change up which machines I'm doing and I also change up my workouts on Mon, Weds, Fri and Tues, Thurs. I do cardio on MWF and Strength/Abs on TTH.

Hello from another Wisconsinite trying to lose it. Found you via The Julie Blog which I have been following for 2 years. I'd join you snowshoeing but I suspect we are a distance apart. Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hello!
